Italian Coast Guard announced that they rescued more than 2000 immigrants were threatened with drowning in the Mediterranean in collaboration with Italian, Irish, and German ships, while sources confirmed that migrants who hold different nationalities were on board five wooden boats in the Mediterranean Sea off the Libyan coast.”
UNHCR reported that 46,500 immigrants arrived in Italy by sea during the first five months of 2015, an increase of 12 %in compare with the same period last year. The Italian government expects that the number will reach 200,000 people this year.
