Water Cut Continues and Medical Services Absent at Deraa Camp

Residents of Daraa camp south of Syria complain from the absence of any hospital or medical center, and from a severe lack of medicines, first aid materials, and medical equipment.

In addition, ambulances that transport the injuries to receive medical treatment outside the camp are not available, where the Syrian regular army snipers impede the arrival of ambulances to the camp. In case residents managed to transfer one of the patients outside the camp trying to treat him in Jordan, the latter refuse the entry of any Palestinian refugees from Syria even injuries.

 Accordingly, some of them were forced to enter Jordan as a Syrian citizen for treatment, moreover, a number of activists inside the camp warned of the spread of diseases among residents in light of having to use contaminated drinking water, due to the cut of drinking water for around 423days.

The repeated shelling and clashes taking place in Deraa camp since the beginning of the ongoing war, according to unofficial statistics, caused the destruction of about 70% of its buildings.

 The remaining refugees live in very serious humanitarian situations, as the suffering was not limited to the health side, but exceeded the standard of living, as power outages for long periods of up to several days has doubled their suffering.

 In addition to the non-availability of fuels and heating materials, the loss of many varieties of food, the high prices of other materials dramatically, making hundreds of Palestinian families to leave the camp and go to the neighboring towns.
