Syrian Palestinian fighter Ahmed Yazan Darwish won first place in the third UAE National Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship in the 52 kg weight category, achieving the title for the third consecutive time. The championship was held in the Emirate of Dubai with the participation of an elite group of fighters from various nationalities.

Ahmed, a native of the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp south of Damascus, expressed his ambition to continue his sporting career and participate in more local and international championships, and his big dream is to represent Palestine in international sporting events.

This achievement is evidence of the determination of Palestinian refugees in Syria to achieve success despite the difficult circumstances and the lack of capabilities and support that athletes there face, as well as the scarcity of training facilities and equipment available for practicing sports.
