Palestinian student Mahmoud Abbas, from the UNRWA Al-Shajarah Basic Education School, won the gold medal in the Shot Put Championship for Schools, which was recently held at the Workers’ Stadium in Homs Governorate, Syria.
Mahmoud was awarded first place by the Head of the Physical Education Department at the Homs Education Directorate, Imad Al-Omar, who expressed his pride in this sporting achievement, praising the school administration’s efforts in supporting sports activities and discovering young talent.
For its part, the Al-Shajarah School administration expressed its pride in this victory, stressing its commitment to encouraging its students to participate in various tournaments and activities, which contributes to developing their capabilities and honing their skills.
This victory is an extension of a series of achievements recorded by Palestinian students in Syria, despite the challenges they face, affirming their presence and excellence in the fields of sports, science, and creativity.
