The General Security Directorate in Aleppo released seven young men from Al-Nayrab Palestinian refugee camp on Monday, over a month after their arrest in connection with a security incident that took place during the third day of Eid al-Fitr, according to the Action Group’s local correspondent.
The released individuals were identified as: Jamil Namir Faour (21), Mustafa Abdullah Miyari (19), Mohammad Nafe’ Mahmoud (20), Mohammad Manaa (23), and Rasheed Kaid Zaidan (28).
The release followed the conclusion of investigations, while two others remain in detention: Bilal Khalil Zahouri (35) and Milad Ali Ghannam (23).
Families of the detainees had issued multiple appeals demanding to know the fate of their sons and calling for fair treatment in accordance with the law””free from political or factional influence.
The families emphasized their demand for a transparent investigation that would hold the actual perpetrators accountable, stating: “Our sons are not above the law, but they are not outside it either.”
