The car of Palestinian Tariq Ibrahim Rashid, a resident of Al-A’edeen camp in Hama, has reappeared 13 years after it was stolen by an unknown armed group in 2012 while he was working as a taxi driver.

The car is a yellow Hyundai Verna, a public vehicle, and currently bears Idlib license plate number (060511), while it was previously registered in Hama under number (031485). It was recently found on one of the streets of Hama, prompting its owner to submit a petition to the Sarmada Prosecution Office on June 1, 2025, under number (65).

After the car was impounded in the Sarmada impoundment garage, Rashid submitted a new request to receive the vehicle and register the seizure number (518) with the Sarmada Police Station. Another seizure was also registered with the Public Prosecution Office at the Sarmada Court under number (956).

Despite weeks of procedures and repeated promises to recover his car, the vehicle remains impounded. Tariq, who is currently unemployed, hopes to regain his only source of income, despite what he describes as difficult living conditions.
