Zaman al-Wasl newspaper revealed an official document issued in 2017 by the First Military Field Court of the Syrian regime’s army, addressed to the General Authority for Palestinian Refugees (GAPR) in Damascus.
The document includes a notification of the death of Palestinian refugee Muhammad Yahya al-Bubli, originally from Jaffa, in 2013.
According to the newspaper, the cable indicates the existence of official records documenting the deaths and executions of Palestinian Syrians and others of various Palestinian nationalities who were residing in Syria.
The release of these documents reopens questions from families and human rights organizations about the fate of hundreds of Palestinians whose fate remains unknown, and the role required of relevant authorities in uncovering the fate of the victims and informing their families of the truth.
It should be noted that the GAPR is not affiliated with the United Nations, but it cooperates extensively with it and receives support from it.
