*Palestinian students excel in high school exams in Syria

The Syrian Ministry of Education announced on Saturday the results of the General Secondary Certificate examinations for the 2024-2025 academic year, with more than 354,000 students applying across the science, literature, Sharia, and vocational streams.

According to the ministry’s data, the science stream recorded the highest success rate at 75.5% among regular students, while the rate in the literature stream reached 54.9%, and in secondary Sharia education 77.5%, while it did not exceed 32.9% in vocational education.

Within the results, the Palestinian presence was strongly prominent this year, as a number of Palestinian refugee students achieved advanced ranks in the camps and nationwide, reflecting this group’s determination to excel despite difficult living and educational conditions.

Students Muhammad Awad Faris and Yahya Salim Al-Khatib achieved the full mark (2700/2700) in the science stream, topping the list of top students in Syria.

Ibrahim Jamil Muhammad, a student from Khan al-Shih camp, achieved 2676 in the science section, making him one of the top students nationwide.

Muhammad Nazir Yousef Wahba, Hala Mu’min Hadid, achieved 2685, and Muhannad Ihab Abu Ezza, all from Yarmouk camp, achieved 2692 in the science section. Bushra Hussam al-Saadi achieved 2648, along with Batoul Fouad al-Daqqa from Barzeh camp, who achieved 2596.

Mutaz Bellah Basil Musa ranked first in Khan Danoun camp with 2632, while Muhammad Hammam Mutaz Abdul Majeed achieved 2685, among the top students nationwide, along with Sireen Ali Awad, who achieved 2511 in the arts section.

These results highlight the continued educational excellence of Palestinian students in Syria, despite the challenges facing the camps in recent years.
