London – The Action Group

The Action Group for Palestinians in Syria documented the detention of 221 Palestinian refugees from the Neirab refugee camp in Aleppo in the prisons of the defunct Syrian regime, during the period extending from March 2011 to December 2024. It also documented the deaths of 21 refugees from the camp in Syrian regime prisons as a result of torture practiced against detainees.

In this context, the Action Group revealed in its recently issued comprehensive statistical report, entitled “The Painful Harvest,”horrific figures documenting the scale of the humanitarian tragedy that befell Palestinian refugees in Syria during the years of conflict, warning that the actual numbers far exceed what was documented.

According to the report, prepared by the group’s “Studies and Research Department,”the number of Palestinian detainees reached 7,237, of whom males constituted 96.2%, while females constituted only 3.8%.
