Damascus – Action Group
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in the Syrian Arab Republic issued a decision granting the Action Group for Palestinians of Syria an official license to operate within Syrian territory.
The Ministry’s decision, No. 1448/1, stated that the organization was registered in the register of private associations and institutions under the name “Action Group for Palestinians of Syria.”The decision defined its areas of work as development, legal empowerment, and advocacy for rights, in addition to strengthening the capacities of the most vulnerable groups and supporting the rights of women and children.
The decision clarified that the organization aims to empower the local community through educational and social programs, contribute to raising awareness, and present initiatives that contribute to improving the conditions of the most vulnerable groups in and around Palestinian camps, in addition to defending rights and promoting the principles of justice, equality, and social solidarity.
The decision indicated that all activities will be carried out in coordination with the competent technical authorities in the Ministry, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
It is worth noting that granting the license allows the Action Group to expand the scope of its field work inside Syria, after years of its activities being limited to human rights documentation and media coverage of the issues of Palestinians of Syria.
