Yesterday, Jordanian forces arrested three young Palestinians from Al-Muzayrib in Daraa Governorate while they were fishing in the Al-Wahda Dam area on the Syrian-Jordanian border.

The Action Group’s correspondent saidthat this arrest is part of a series of similar incidents. The young men relied on fishing as a source of income to support their families amid the stifling living conditions and difficult economic and humanitarian circumstances the region is experiencing.

The correspondent confirmed the identities of the detainees and the details of the incident: Amin Hayel Al-Haibi, Hussein Ahmed Hussein, and Mohammed Ahmed Hussein. He pointed out that the detained young men are well-known fishermen in the area, and that their presence in the vicinity of the dam was solely for the purpose of fishing, and had no political or security motives.

In light of this, activists from Daraa and Al-Muzayrib issued an urgent humanitarian appeal to the Jordanian authorities, as well as to relevant Syrian authorities and international organizations, urging them to follow up on their case and work towards the immediate release of the young men, taking into consideration their humanitarian situation and the fact that they are the breadwinners for their families during the current crisis.
