The spokesperson for the National Authority for the Missing, Zeina Shahla, stated to the Syrian News Channel that continuous steps are being taken to equip staff with the necessary modern technologies to process large and sensitive security-related files.

Shahla expressed hope in reaching accurate information regarding the fate of the missing, despite the major challenges posed by the scale and complexity of these cases.

She confirmed that the discovery of mass graves continues on a daily basis across several Syrian regions, with new names being documented regularly as part of ongoing investigations.

The spokesperson emphasized that the Authority holds regular meetings with families of the missing, listening to their demands and updating them on the progress of the work, while stressing the urgent need to establish a comprehensive central database for effective information management.

Shahla also pointed out that one of the main challenges lies in the preparation of forensic medicine and criminal analysis, which requires highly specialized equipment and advanced technical resources.
