An Opposition Group was Obliged to Pay a Religious Expiation for Killing a Young Man from Khan Al Shieh Camp

The so-called “Sharia Court” of the Syrian armed opposition in the western Ghouta issued a decision that obligates “Al- Fateheen Brigade” group, one of the armed opposition groups, to pay the religious expiation for killing the young man “Thabet Faour,” a resident of Khan Al- Shieh camp, after confirming he was innocence from cooperation with the Syrian regime according to the court decision.

In addition, “Al- Fateheen Brigade” group abducted “Thabet Faour” and executed him on charges of cooperation with the Syrian regime, provoking his family to complain to the legitimacy court which proved his innocence after verification and witnesses call and ordered the group to pay money as a religious expiation for killing him unjustly.

 It is noteworthy that the action group had documented numerous abuses committed by opposition armed groups against the residents of Khan Al- Shieh camp, as Al-Nusra Front executed three Palestinian refugees on April 18, 2015, after arresting them for more than 7 months. The detainees are: “Abdullah Saeed Khnefes,” “Abdul Rahman Saeed Khnefes “and” Nabil Awad Fares.”

On September 7, 2014, a group of the opposition opened fire on the residents of the camp which led to two victims; they are: “Mohammed Methqal Al- Qadiah” and “Mohammed Saleh Saleh,” as a number of civilians were wounded, including “Essam Hussein” and “Ali Hamadeh.”

On July16, the Syrian opposition groups stormed the camp under heavy shooting at Al Makhfar and Al Madares area causing a state of panic among residents.

Moreover, these groups arrested a number of residents, as they were taken to an unknown destination.

 On July 16, “Wael Abu Zahrah,” a resident of Khan Al- Shieh camp, died after being abducted by a group of the Syrian opposition, while “Mohammed Khnefs” and “Abu Irfan Khnefes” were released.

However, on August 3, 2014 these groups stormed the camp and inspected the home of “Mohammed Jarwan Saleh” searching for “Mo’een Jarwan,” while they killed “Mohammed Jarwan.”

In addition, the group raided the home of “Ahmed Al- Ramli,” a teacher at an UNRWA school and arrested him.
