No Teachers at UNRWA Schools at Sablin Area in Lebanon

The AGPS received many letters from families of Palestinian Syrian students in Lebanon complaining about the shortage of teaching staff at BirZeit UNRWA School in Siblin area, Sidon city, south Lebanon, pointing out that their children only received a few classes after more than a month of starting the new academic year.
Parents stressed that there are only 5teachers is in a school that contains 250 male and female students, noting that the school did not distribute textbooks to the students.
They also believe that all school ingredients such as teachers and books were available to their peers of Palestinian refugees residing in Lebanon.
 The families appealed to the Palestinian ambassador, the PLO, and the Palestinian factions in Lebanon to move immediately to put pressure on UNRWA and urged them to work to secure the teaching staff and textbooks for students.
It is noteworthy that there are 6000 Palestinian Syrian students studying in UNRWA schools in Lebanon suffer from learning difficulties, overcrowded classrooms, and ignorance by UNRWA to their problems and their educational needs.
The tenth grade Palestinian Syrian students were surprised by the French language material within the curriculum that is taught in UNRWA schools, where these students did not previously took any lessons in the French language during the previous years, noting that they have studied elementary stage within UNRWA schools.
 In another incident, the management of Siblin Institute for vocational and technical training of UNRWA refused to accept most of the Palestinian Syrian students without giving convincing reasons for rejection.
