The Palestinian-Syrian and Syrian refugees suffer from hard living and economic and social conditions which become more complicated in winter and the need for heating. This winter comes with the continuous cut of UNRWA’s winter aid and the $100 shelter allowance which was entitled to the Palestinian-Syrians in Lebanon.
The “Palestinians of Syria Committee” had went to Housh Al-Hariemi region in Western Beqaa in Lebanon where seven Palestinian families live, visited the house of “S.M” 70-years-old born in Tiberias Palestine to acquaint with his situation and support him as a fire brock out in his living room recently and burned all its contents.
The committee also visited “Suhier Al-Natour” in Jubb Al-Farah region in Western Beqaa where she talked about her sufferings and the difficulty of making living for a woman who doesn’t know her lost husband’s fate, demanding to tell her story and shed the light over the Palestinian-Syrians’ tragedy to get the attention of decision-makers and stakeholders like UNRWA, PLO, Palestinian Factions in Lebanon and relief organizations, in particular.
The Lebanese government still prohibits the Palestinian-Syrians from entering its lands except for exceptional cases, it is noteworthy that Palestinian-Syrians in Lebanon census estimated at 45,000 refugees.
