The AGPS knew that the Cypriot government has decided to postpone the dismantling of “Kokino Tremthia” camp in Nicosia, which receives dozens of Palestinian Syrian refugees, to the next Tuesday, where it is expected to transfer them to a safe place to live on Saturday with the possibility of extension.
Meanwhile, Al Wafaa European Campaign confirmed that the Cypriot authorities agreed to change the status of the presence of the refugees, who do not want to resort, from a humanitarian residency into a tourist visa or work visa.
It is noteworthy that these developments came after the unremitting efforts made by the campaign in collaboration with a number of parties, forces, and the Cypriots Representatives. For their part, the Palestinian refugees expressed satisfaction with the decision, thanking Al Wafaa European campaign and Jerusalem satellite channel for their efforts of alleviating their suffering.
