Residents of Deraa and Yarmouk camps have resorted to unhygienic artesian wells to secure water supplies due to the chronic outages rocking the shelters.
Speaking with AGPS, experts raised alarm bells over the life-threatening repercussions of artesian water wells, saying they cause disorders in the function of the kidneys. Potential hazards also emanate from the uncontrolled flow of groundwater deposits.
The Syrian regime forces suspended water supplies to Yarmouk and Deraa shelters respectively for 806 and 991 days.
