Palestinian Refugee Mohamed Omar Held in Syrian Gov’t Jail

Palestinian refugee Mohamed Omar, aged 51, has been locked up in Syrian government penitentiaries for over three years in a row.
The detainee was kidnapped by the regime troops on July 18, 2013, near the Hums-based AlAydeen Camp, on his way to visit his relatives in the area.
A couple of months later, Omar was transferred from a security branch in Hums to Damascus. He was last met by a freed detainee in May 2014.
AGPS kept account of the incarceration of 1,168 Palestinian refugees in Syrian government prisons, among whom 83 female detainees.
