The popular committees for Palestinians refugees from Syria in Lebanon have called for a mass participation in a rally that is slated to be held on Tuesday, March 3, outside of the office of UNRWA director in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.
The vigil comes to urge UNRWA to take up its responsibility regarding the Palestinians of Syria, increase cash assistance, and enhance humanitarian services, pending a just and lasting solution to the refugees’ plight.
A few days earlier, Palestinian activists in Lebanon launched an e-campaign in an attempt to urge UNRWA to live up to their demands for physical, legal, and humanitarian protection.
Activists tweeted on the following hashtag: “our demands are a right and not a UNRWA favor”.
