{"id":86480,"date":"2022-01-03T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-02T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/12657\/"},"modified":"2022-01-03T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-02T21:00:00","slug":"12657","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/12657","title":{"rendered":"229 Migrants Rescued by Turkish Coast Guard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Turkish Coast Guard Command units rescued 229 illegal migrants who were pushed back by the Greek coast guard in the Aegean Sea on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Acting on a tip, the Turkish coast guard rescued at least 102 irregular migrants on a rubber boat who were pushed into Turkish territorial waters by the Greek authorities off the district of &Ccedil;e\u00c5\u0178me in Izmir province, a statement by the coast guard said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">In the district of Dikili, also in Izmir, Turkish teams rescued 59 more irregular migrants in a rubber dinghy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Separately, the coast guard also saved a total of 68 irregular migrants off the &Ccedil;e\u00c5\u0178me and Dikili districts when they asked for help due to engine failure in their boats.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">All migrants were transferred to the provincial migration office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Hundreds of people have died at sea as many boats carrying refugees sank or capsized. The Turkish Coast Guard Command has rescued thousands of others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Turkey and Greece are key transit points for migrants looking to cross into Europe, fleeing war and persecution to start new lives. Turkey has accused Greece of large-scale pushbacks, summary deportations and denying migrants access to asylum procedures, which is a violation of international law.
