{"id":86956,"date":"2022-02-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-18T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/12805\/"},"modified":"2022-02-19T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-02-18T21:00:00","slug":"12805","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/12805","title":{"rendered":"8 Years On\u201d\u00a6Massacre Perpetrated by Syrian Regime on AlMuzeireeb&#8217;s Palestinian Refugee Community Unforgettable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">This week marks the eighth anniversary of a massacre perpetrated by the Syrian regime army on AlMuzeireeb Palestinian refugee community in Daraa, south of Syria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">On February 18, 2014, the Syrian government forces targeted Ein Al-Zaytoun school and a local clinic run by UNRWA in AlMuzeireeb with barrel bombs, taking away the lives of over 18 civilians, including schoolchildren and instructors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Member of the Palestinian envoy in Syria, Ahmad Majdalani, claimed there is no Palestinian refugee community in AlMuzeireeb town, sparking anger among Palestinian families living in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Located some 11 kilometers away from northwestern Daraa province, Al-Muzeireeb town was home to nearly 8,500 Palestinian refugees, mostly displaced from northern occupied Palestine and Daraa refugee camp.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">AGPS has documented several other mass killings against Palestinian refugees across the war-ravaged Syrian territories. This includes the so-called \u201cMig Massacre\u201d\u009d, also known as \u201cAbdul Kader AlHusaini massacre\u201d\u009d, in reference to the onslaughts launched by the Syrian fighter jets on Abdul Kader AlHusaini Mosque, in Yarmouk camp for Palestinian refugees, in Damascus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">At the time of the attack, the mosque served as a shelter for hundreds of families who fled the deadly strikes on the camp. Dozens of civilians, including children and women, were killed in the massacre.
