Palestinian activists and residents of AlThawrah neighborhood, in AlHajar AlAswad, south of Damascus, said civilian homes have been severely damaged by the stagnant water sitting in place for weeks.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The residents attributed water stagnation to the damaged sewerage network in <\/span>the area, saying urgent action should be made to repair the network.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sometime earlier, Palestinian families displaced from AlHajar AlAswad\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span>neighborhood, south of Damascus, called on the concerned authorities to allow\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>them a safe return to their homes and to press ahead with reconstruction\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>projects.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Civilians said their economic situation has dramatically gone down amid a full\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>lockdown imposed on the country to rein in coronavirus propagation.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The residents have also called on local authorities to remove rubble from the\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>streets and repair the sewerage and power networks.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thousands of Palestinian refugees took shelter in AlHajar AlAswad, which\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>came under heavy shelling since 2013 and a crippling siege after ISIS crept into\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>the area. <\/span><\/p>\n
