{"id":89248,"date":"2022-05-03T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/13061\/"},"modified":"2022-05-03T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-05-02T21:00:00","slug":"13061","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/13061","title":{"rendered":"CSO Slams UNRWA&#8217;s Response to Refugees&#8217; Complaints"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The Association of Palestinians from Syria in Lebanon slammed a statement issued by UNRWA in response to a video released a few days earlier in which a staff worker at Liban Post ordered a sick refugee to arrive by ambulance to get his cash aid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Director of Liban Post in Sidon gave orders for allowing Palestinian refugee Anas Khalil to enter the office by ambulance to get his cash grant, sparking anger among the refugees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The Association said UNRWA&#8217;s accusations that Anas did not abide by the Agency&#8217;s instructions are counterfeit and called it on to provide a healthcare allowance to the refugee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The group threatened to close off UNRWA&#8217;s main office in Sidon and escalate protest moves in case the Agency drags it feet over the refugees&#8217; appeals for ending its contract with Liban Post.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Sometime earlier, UNRWA apologized to the patient but said it opted for a unified distribution mechanism to prevent fraud.
