{"id":89401,"date":"2022-06-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-11T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/13203\/"},"modified":"2022-06-12T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-06-11T21:00:00","slug":"13203","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/13203","title":{"rendered":"Deraa Camp Cemetery Ravaged by Anonymous Party"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Residents of Deraa Camp for Palestinian refugees said the local cemetery has been ravaged and headstones stolen by anonymous gangsters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">A resident said he reached out to the police station but the thieves have not been caught so far.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The residents held local authorities and the General Authority for Palestinian Arab Refugees (GAPAR) responsible for the increasing assaults on the cemetery and called for urgent reconstruction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Prior to the conflict, the cemetery had been used as a children&#8217;s park before it was turned into a graveyard for war victims.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">In 2012, the residents were forced to bury their deceased relatives in the playground after they failed to reach the local cemetery due to heavy shelling and deadly shootouts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">On July 27, 2012, the war machinery claimed the lives of dozens of civilians. Their bodies were all buried overnight in a collective pit dug in the playground.
