{"id":89529,"date":"2020-11-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-28T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/10998\/"},"modified":"2020-11-29T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-11-28T21:00:00","slug":"10998","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/10998","title":{"rendered":"Displaced Families of Yarmouk Camp Denounce Reluctance of Syrian Authorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size:20px\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,times,serif\">Residents of Yarmouk Camp have lashed out at local authorities over their reluctance regarding their appeals for implementing reconstruction projects and facilitating civilians&#8217; return to their homes.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:20px\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,times,serif\">An AGPS reporter said that a few days earlier, two Palestinian families returned to the camp.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:20px\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,times,serif\">Palestinian families continue to call on the concerned authorities to allow them a safe return to their homes in Yarmouk Camp, in Damascus, and to press ahead with reconstruction projects.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:20px\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,times,serif\">A number of activists have also warned of ongoing attempts to alter the demographic character of the camp and blur its identity as a living witness to the Palestinian refugee plight.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:20px\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,times,serif\">Last year, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) published the results of an assessment of the damage to Syrian cities caused by seven years of relentless bombardment by the incumbent regime and its allies since 2011.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:20px\"><span style=\"font-family:times new roman,times,serif\">The analysis found out that as many as 5,489 buildings were destroyed in Yarmouk Camp for Palestinian refugees.
