{"id":89782,"date":"2021-02-08T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-02-07T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/11299\/"},"modified":"2021-02-08T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-02-07T21:00:00","slug":"11299","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/11299","title":{"rendered":"Dozens of Palestinians from Syria Laid Off by UNRWA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">UNRWA has suspended the contracts of dozens of part-time and day laborers recruited since the start of the conflict in Syria due to funding deficit.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">A laid-off staffer told AGPS that the measure will make the situation of Palestinian refugee families in Syria worse as the Agency serves as the sole source of income to the refugees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">As the coronavirus pandemic has rebounded around the MENA region and the globe, Palestinian refugees in war-torn Syria continue to struggle with growing poverty and economic hardship.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Hundreds of Palestinian refugees from Syria (PRS) have lost their jobs in the warfare and hundreds more have been wondering in the streets as they rummage around for livelihoods to feed their starved families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The crisis in Syria has been one of the gravest and most demanding emergencies faced in the modern era.
