{"id":91628,"date":"2019-12-15T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-14T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/9480\/"},"modified":"2019-12-15T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-12-14T21:00:00","slug":"9480","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/9480","title":{"rendered":"Mismanagement Allegations Emerge against UNRWA Office in Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Residents of Daraa camp for Palestinian refugees, south of Syria, accused UNRWA staff of mismanagement and nepotism.<\/div>\n<div>In a letter emailed to AGPS, the residents said signs of unfair recruitment procedures have emerged at UNRWA&#8217;s Daraa office as members of same families received jobs while others&#8217; demands were turned down.<\/div>\n<div>They added that all recruited workers are residents of Daraa city and none of them is from Daraa refugee camp.<\/div>\n<div>The residents denounced corruption and nepotism in Daraa, saying UNRWA should have appointed all cash-stripped civilians for six months in order to reduce unemployment rates in the area.<\/div>\n<div>Daraa Camp for Palestinian refugees has been grappling with abject conditions as a result of the fallouts wrought by the military operation launched by the Syrian government forces in mid-June 2018 using internationally-prohibited weapons in an attempt to recapture the area. 80% of civilian homes and property were destroyed.
