{"id":96391,"date":"2020-05-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-09T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/10082\/"},"modified":"2020-05-10T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-05-09T21:00:00","slug":"10082","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/10082","title":{"rendered":"Residents of Yarmouk Camp Appeal for Urgent Humanitarian Assistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Education chief in Yarmouk Camp, Walid AlKurdi, and<br \/>\nPalestinian activists have launched calls for assisting vulnerable families taking<br \/>\nshelter in the area.<\/p>\n<p>In a Facebook statement, AlKurdi said families displaced from Yarmouk to<br \/>\nsurrounding areas and those who remained in the camp live below the poverty<br \/>\nline.<\/p>\n<p>He called on the concerned authorities and human rights organizations to take<br \/>\nurgent humanitarian action in response to the squalid conditions endured by<br \/>\nYarmouk residents.<\/p>\n<p>Over recent weeks, Palestinian refugees sheltered across the Syrian territories<br \/>\nhave kept urging UNRWA to assist them in their fight against the novel<br \/>\ncoronavirus COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Activists have lashed out at UNRWA and the General Authority for Palestinian<br \/>\nArab Refugees (GAPAR) over their unresponsiveness regarding the cries for<br \/>\nhelp launched by the Palestinian refugee community in Syria due to coronavirus<br \/>\noutbreak.<\/p>\n<p>The Syrian government forces regained control over Yarmouk Camp and<br \/>\nsouthern Damascus towns following a 33-day military operation launched in<br \/>\nApril 2018. Dozens of civilians were killed and dozens more injured in the<br \/>\noffensive.
