{"id":96865,"date":"2021-01-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-28T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/11248\/"},"modified":"2021-01-29T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-01-28T21:00:00","slug":"11248","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/11248","title":{"rendered":"Skin Infections Recorded in Northern Syria Displacement Camps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Fungal infections, also called mycosis (a skin disease caused by a fungus), have been reported among Palestinians and Syrians taking shelter in Deir Ballout and AlMuhammadiya displacement camps, north of Syria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Local sources told AGPS that the disease has been contaminated by former detainees who had been incarcerated in the notorious Gindires prison, in Efrin&#8217;s western outskirts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The disease causes irritation, scaly skin, redness, itching, swelling, and blisters.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The residents have called on the concerned authorities and humanitarian organizations to lend them a hand and provide them with medical treatment and medicines.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Hundreds of Palestinian families have been struggling for survival in the poorly-equipped Deir Ballout and Muhammadiya camps, after they were forced out of Yarmouk and southern Damascus towns.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">For many displaced Palestinian refugees, the perils of winter weather add to the torment already experienced throughout the conflict.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">High rates of unemployment and lack of relief assistance have made the situation far worse for the displaced families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">According to data by the Commission of Palestinians of Syria for Relief and Development, as many as 1,488 Palestinian families have been sheltered in the northern Syrian regions of Idlib, Efrin, and Aleppo&#8217;s suburbs.
