{"id":97068,"date":"2020-08-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-19T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/10538\/"},"modified":"2020-08-20T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-08-19T21:00:00","slug":"10538","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/10538","title":{"rendered":"Syria Meeting Discusses Dire Situation in Palestinian Refugee Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">A meeting was held in AlHusainiya camp between civil society representatives, pro-government parties, and women empowerment groups in order to discuss the deteriorating situation in the camp.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The meeting tackled UNRWA&#8217;s vital role in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Over recent years, residents of AlHusainiya Camp, in Rif Dimashq, have denounced the poor infrastructure and absence of vital services in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The residents also said that they have been enduring frequent water and power blackouts along with an acute shortage in much-needed food items.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">High unemployment rates and the absence of relief assistance by UNRWA and other humanitarian institutions have made survival quite difficult in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Offensives launched on the camp using MIG warplanes led to the death of dozens of civilians in AlHusainiya Camp and a massive material destruction.
