{"id":98777,"date":"2016-11-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-16T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/4229\/"},"modified":"2016-11-17T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2016-11-16T21:00:00","slug":"4229","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/4229","title":{"rendered":"UNRWA condemns killing of its staff member in Syrian regime onslaught on Khan Al-Sheih"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) strongly condemned the killing of one of its staff members, Mr. Husein Ali Muhsen, 52, and his uncle, Ahmad Mahmud Muhsen, 77, in Syria on Sunday, 13 November 2016.<\/p>\n<p>UNRWA reports indicate that Mr. Muhsen and his uncle were killed by an airstrike that hit a mosque during morning prayers in the Palestine refugee camp of Khan Al-Sheih in the southwest of rural Damascus. At least 12 people were injured in the incident.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\u201cMr. Muhsen served UNRWA with distinction for 24 years,\u201da statement by UNRWA read. \u201cHe worked both as a Distribution Team Leader with the Procurement and Logistics department and most recently as a Clerk at\u00c2\u00a0the UNRWA health center in the camp. He is the twentieth UNRWA staff member killed since the beginning of the conflict in Syria and is survived by his wife and six children. The thoughts and condolences of all UNRWA staff go out to his bereaved family.\u201d\u009d\u00c2\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>UNRWA added that it is appalled by the continued killing and injuring of civilians in Syria, including Palestine refugees, and called on all those involved in the hostilities to scrupulously abide by their obligations under international law with regard to the conduct of hostilities and the protection of civilians. \u00c2\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>UNRWA Commissioner-General Pierre Kr&auml;henb&uuml;hl also raised concerns that Khan Al-Sheih Camp \u201cmay become the next Yarmouk.\u201d\u009d.<\/div>\n<div>Addressing the host governments and donor states&#8217; representatives assembled for the second bi-annual UNRWA Advisory Commission meeting for 2016 held in Amman, Pierre Kr&auml;henb&uuml;hl said Palestinian camps in Syria have sustained severe damage and that Palestine refugees struggle to survive in the ruins of Aleppo and Deraa.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) strongly condemned the killing of one of its staff members, Mr. Husein Ali Muhsen, 52, and his uncle, Ahmad Mahmud Muhsen, 77, in Syria on Sunday, 13 November 2016.
