{"id":98826,"date":"2020-08-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-25T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/10569\/"},"modified":"2020-08-26T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-08-25T21:00:00","slug":"10569","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/10569","title":{"rendered":"UNRWA Denies Intent to Assist Refugees Affected by Beirut Explosion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">UNRWA denied reports about its intent to start providing medical assistance to refugees affected by the blast that struck Beirut&#8217;s seaport on August 4, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">UNRWA said in a statement that reports claiming the Agency will start distributing cash and in-kind items, including food and medicines, are counterfeit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">UNRWA said its updates are only released by its official sources and spokespersons, warning Palestinian refugees against electronic malwares and link viruses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The Agency pledged to take legal action against parties responsible for propagating rumours and counterfeit pieces of information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">It expressed its solidarity with the Lebanese people and the Palestinian refugees living in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">UNRWA is confronted with an increased demand for services resulting from a growth in the number of registered Palestine refugees, the extent of their vulnerability and their deepening poverty. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions and financial support has been outpaced by the growth in needs.
