{"id":98954,"date":"2020-11-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-11-12T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionpal.ahmadalkhuleyf.net\/post\/10923\/"},"modified":"2020-11-13T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-11-12T21:00:00","slug":"10923","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actionpal.tech\/en\/post\/10923","title":{"rendered":"UNRWA Pledges to Transfer Aid to Palestinians from Syria in Lebanon on Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">The Association of Displaced Palestinians from Syria in Lebanon said UNRWA will be distributing its aid to the refugees despite the lockdown slapped by the Lebanese government as part of anti-coronavirus measures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Over recent months, Palestinian refugees have kept urging the Agency to increase its cash allowances, in light of the economic hardship and price inflation wrought by the coronavirus pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">They further called for paying their monthly aid in dollars, in light of the deteriorating economic situation in the country and the dramatic drop in the exchange rate of the local currency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">According to UNRWA data, until February 2020, there are 28,000 PRS in Lebanon, making nearly 7,000 families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">PRS in Lebanon continue to face high vulnerability and marginalization, making them heavily reliant on UNRWA humanitarian support to cover their basic needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"background-color:transparent; color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:times new roman; font-size:14pt\">Almost 90 per cent of PRS in Lebanon are under the poverty line and 95 per cent are food insecure, according to a 2015 survey by UNRWA.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Association of Displaced Palestinians from Syria in Lebanon said UNRWA will be distributing its aid to the refugees despite the lockdown slapped by the Lebanese government as part of anti-coronavirus measures.
