The documentary film “My Memory is Full of Ghosts” by its Palestinian Syrian director “Anas Zawahri” has achieved many achievements, in conjunction with its continuous screening and winning awards in more than one place and more than one activity in this world, to constitute a qualitative addition to Arab cinema in general and Palestinian and Syrian cinema in particular.
 The film won the Anhar Award for Best Human Rights Film 2024, at the Karama Human Rights Festival in Jordan.
In Denmark, it won the Best Documentary Film Award at the “Syrian Documentary Days” Festival last September and was selected among the films selected for the fourth session of the Ciner eve Documentary Film Days, and will soon be screened in Belgium, at the Ram Dam Film Festival in the city of Tournai.
 From 17 to 27 January 2025, the film’s success was crowned with the great achievement of winning the El Gouna Star Award for Best Arab Documentary Film at the El Gouna Film Festival in Egypt.
 The film sheds light on the lives of the people of the Syrian city of Homs, who returned after years of war, displacement, and bombardment, only to find themselves in front of a ghost town, bearing stories of suffering, displacement, and homes destroyed by war, as well as arrests and deaths under torture. The Syrian Palestinian refugee Anas Zawahri is an independent film director, editor, and producer, born in 1987.
 He is Palestinian and resides in Syria. His works are based on realistic depictions of events in Syria. He has participated in many workshops on cinema, in addition to presenting many experimental works and video art.
Writer Widad Salloum says, “Zawahri has achieved a distinguished presence on the Arab and international levels, as he presented two short films, the first entitled: “A Very Ordinary Day”, produced in 2019, and the second entitled “Summer, City, and Camera”produced in 2022.
 He participated with them in dozens of international and Arab festivals and won many gold and silver awards, the Best Director Award, and the Best Actor Award, the most recent of which was the Grand Prize at the “Nations and Human Rights Festival”in Mauritania, the Best Director Award at the Italian Film Festival 2023, and the Audience Choice Award for Best International Documentary Film at the fourth edition of the Diorama International Film Festival, among others.”
