17 Refugees from Syria Sank Off the Turkish Coasts

In Turkey, where Turkish media sources reported that 17 refugees from Syria died on Sunday, after their boat sank off the coast of the province of “Mugla” of the Aegean Sea, south-west Turkey.
The sources pointed out that the boat capsized shortly after lift-off, adding that the Coast Guard managed to rescue 20 others. The agency clarified that the refugees were on their way to Greece, in an attempt to enter illegally.
According to the Turkish agency of “Dogan,” the victims are from Syria, including a woman and five children, and added that the border Turks guard recovered the bodies from the wooden boat, which left Turkish Bodrum towards the Greek Leros Island, while the migrants were unable to get out of the cockpit where the water surrounded them.
