400 Immigrants Drawn during their Journey from Libya to Italy

Survivors reported that about 400 migrants died when their ship sank during their trip from Libya trying to reach Italy.
Save the Children organization said that 550 migrants were aboard the ship when it sank after 24 hours of sailing from the Libyan coast, as the Italian authorities explained that the ship sank about 150 km off the coast of Libya, and that the Italian coastguard forces managed to rescue 144 people who were on board and they continue to look for other potential victims.
A spokesman for the Save the Children organization, “Most of the survivors of the latest incident are from Africa, but there are no other details at the time the ship sank specifically.
Save the Children, IOM, and other humanitarian organizations called the European Union countries to intensify rescue efforts before summer, in which attempts to reach Europe are increasing.
Italian Coast Guard forces said that coast 2851 migrants were rescued in the Mediterranean Sea on Monday, as 5629 migrants were rescued at the weekend and 9 were sank.
It is noteworthy that, during the past years Libya formed one of the main gates of the refugees from Syria and Africa to Europe.
