Italian Coastguard announced on Monday that at least nine people have died after an overcrowded migrants’ boat drawn off the coast of Libya, while 144 other people were rescued after intensive naval efforts in the region. The nationalities of the victims were not announced, while number of activists launched distress calls earlier where the boat was carrying a number of Palestinian and Syrian refugees.
