The Palestinian Lawyers Association in Sbeineh Camp organized a solidarity rally in front of the Muath bin Jabal Mosque on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in support of the residents of the Gaza Strip and to demand urgent international action to stop what they described as “gross human rights violations” to which civilians are subjected there.
In a statement delivered by lawyer Ayman Faour, Secretary of the Association, the Lawyers Association emphasized that the policy of mass starvation imposed on the Gaza Strip constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law and amounts to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The Association called on the United Nations and international human rights bodies to take urgent action to hold those responsible accountable and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged population.
The statement added that the continued blockade and the denial of food and medicine to civilians constitute a violation of the Geneva Conventions, particularly Article 55 of the Fourth Convention, which obliges the occupying power to ensure the provision of basic needs to the civilian population in the occupied territories.
The League called on the world’s free people to pressure their governments to take practical and effective positions to lift the siege on Gaza and halt all forms of collective punishment against civilians.
A number of residents of the Sabina refugee camp participated in the protest, affirming their solidarity with the victims of the siege and their support for human rights accountability efforts.
