On Friday, July 25, 2025, several Palestinian camps in Syria witnessed mass events and marches in solidarity with the residents of the Gaza Strip, rejecting the Israeli blockade and the systematic starvation policy facing civilians in the Strip.

In Yarmouk Camp, south of Damascus, a march set off from the Martyr Abdul Qader al-Husseini Mosque and proceeded along Yarmouk and Palestine Streets, amid chants of solidarity with Gaza. Participants raised Palestinian flags and banners demanding an end to the blockade. The march witnessed widespread participation from residents, evoking historical support for the Palestinian people in the Strip, despite the difficult conditions in the camp.

In Sayyida Zeinab Camp, crowds of residents marched after Friday prayers through the camp’s streets, denouncing the policy of killing and starvation in Gaza. Participants raised slogans supporting the steadfastness of the residents and demanded the opening of the Rafah crossing and the entry of urgent humanitarian aid. The participants’ chants also criticized the Arab and international silence, holding the international community responsible for the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

Moving to the Jaramana camp, a similar event was organized, starting in front of the Omar Ibn Al-Khattab Mosque, passing through a number of the camp’s streets and arriving at the Martyrs’ Roundabout. A number of camp residents and representatives of civil society and youth groups participated in the march. The demonstrators raised slogans demanding the lifting of the siege and calling on the international community to assume its humanitarian responsibilities towards the residents of Gaza.

The Al-Aedin camp in Homs witnessed symbolic movements under the title “Gaza Under Siege: The World’s Silent War of Starvation,” where a number of residents expressed their solidarity with civilians in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the suffering in Gaza is no longer limited to bombing, but has extended to a food blockade and the deprivation of residents from water and medicine, amid continued international silence. These actions come in response to calls by several Palestinian groups for a global week of public anger in support of Palestinians’ right to access urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, given the unprecedented deterioration in living and health conditions.
