Solar Lighting Initiative Held in Hums Refugee Camp

The Charity Committee in AlAyedeen Camp for Palestinian refugees, in Hums, has started works to install 14 solar lighting devices in Akka and Nazareth streets.

The move comes as part of a lighting project launched by the Islamic Jihad Movement to enhance street lighting in Palestinian refugee camps in Syria.

Palestinians taking shelter in AlAyedeen Camp in Hums have been facing a deteriorating humanitarian situation as a result of the price leap, sharp shortage in fuel supplies, the frequent power blackouts, and absence of humanitarian assistance. High rates of unemployment and the security turmoil rocking the region have made the situation far more alarming.
