The Palestinian Charity Association Begins Rehabilitation of Its Hospital in Yarmouk Camp

Yarmouk Camp – Action Group

The Palestinian Charity Association in Yarmouk Camp, south of Damascus, has begun the initial steps to rehabilitate its hospital by launching cleaning operations and removing rubble and debris from the site in preparation for the upcoming phases of restoration and renovation.

The association explained that this move is part of its plan to reactivate the hospital and resume providing medical services to the camp’s residents, after years of shutdown due to damage sustained during the war.

The hospital, once one of the most prominent healthcare facilities serving Palestinians in Yarmouk, had long provided critical medical care before it was destroyed. Current efforts aim to gradually bring it back to life and contribute to improving the dire health and humanitarian conditions within the camp.

This initiative is seen as a positive sign of life slowly returning to Yarmouk Camp, which still suffers from a lack of basic services and infrastructure. Activists view the rehabilitation of the hospital as the beginning of a broader process to revive civil and health institutions that, for decades, formed the backbone of services for Palestinian refugees in the camp.
