Working group.. An urgent call to UNRWA to activate a comprehensive emergency plan to support Palestinian refugees from Syria in Lebanon

Working Group- Londo

In light of the bloody events taking place in Lebanon due to the Israeli aggression, the worsening humanitarian crisis, and the increasing number of displaced Syrian-Palestinians in Lebanon, we, in the Working Group for Syrians-Palestinians , urgently call on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to activate a comprehensive emergency plan to provide the necessary support to Syrian-Palestinians in Lebanon and meet their urgent humanitarian needs.

Syrian Palestinian refugees in Lebanon suffer from tragic humanitarian conditions, especially with the continued displacement of thousands of them, and this suffering is manifested through:

Lack of basic services, poverty and unemployment, difficult living conditions, loss of protection where they face many challenges.

In light of this humanitarian crisis, we demand from UNRWA:

– Activation of a comprehensive emergency plan to meet the needs of Syrian-Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, especially  the displaced among them

– Increasing the quantities of aid provided to Syrian-Palestinians refugees and expanding its coverage to include all humanitarian needs.

Providing high-quality health and educational services to Syrian Palestinian refugees, and ensuring that children receive an education.

– Supporting the livelihoods of  Syrian-Palestinians  refugees, and providing job opportunities and vocational training.

– Protecting Palestinian ürefugees from all forms of violence represented by Israeli aggression, and ensuring their human rights.

We also appeal to the international community, governments, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations to increase their support for UNRWA and for Syrian Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, and to provide the necessary assistance to alleviate their suffering.
