The Palestinian House in Yarmouk Camp organized an art exhibition titled “Your Hunger Is Our Shame.” The exhibition aimed to shed light on the deteriorating humanitarian situation inside the camp amid the ongoing blockade, and to express solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which faces similar humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing blockade.

The exhibition included paintings, documents, and archival photos that recounted chapters of the suffering of Yarmouk Camp residents during the years of the Syrian conflict, highlighting the effects of the blockade on the daily lives of residents. The displayed works also documented moments of the residents’ resilience and their messages to the international community to pressure for an end to the blockade on Palestinian camps in Syria and Gaza.

The organizers emphasized that the aim of the exhibition was to use art as a means to convey the voices of those affected and to shed light on the humanitarian situation, away from political tensions. In their speeches, the participants called for urgent action by international and human rights organizations to lift the blockade and halt the policy of starvation, which they described as “a violation of human dignity and a crime that does not expire with time.”

The exhibition organizers also expressed their full solidarity with the residents of the Gaza Strip, believing that the suffering of Palestinian refugees, wherever they are, calls for concerted efforts to defend their basic rights, foremost among them the right to a dignified life.

The exhibition concluded with a dialogue session focusing on the importance of visual documentation of events and the role of art in highlighting refugee issues. Attendees unanimously agreed that creative expression can contribute to stimulating international awareness and achieving human justice.
