Bilal Abdullah, a young Palestinian-Syrian man from the Neirab camp in Aleppo who currently resides in the German capital, Berlin, was attacked by three foreigners while participating in a demonstration in support of Gaza last Saturday.
According to eyewitnesses, Abdullah suffered two stab wounds to the head and several bruises to his chest. He was subsequently transferred to the hospital for treatment, and his condition is currently stable.
Berlin police announced that they arrested the attackers as they attempted to flee the scene and have opened an investigation into the circumstances and motives of the attack.
This incident comes amid heightened tensions in several European cities during pro-Palestinian demonstrations. Recently, sporadic attacks have targeted participants in events in support of Gaza, raising concerns about the rise of hate speech and racism linked to the ongoing events in the Palestinian territories.
