A Sit-in In Tripoli Against UNRWA’s Reduction of Services

The Palestinian refugees in Lebanon carried out a sit-in in front of the main center of UNRWA at Tripoli north of Lebanon protesting on the UNRWA services reduction to the Palestinian refugees in the five areas.
The sit-in came as a rejection of the policy of UNRWA seeking to postpone the school year and cut salaries for employees.
Within the sit-in organized by the UNRWA Workers Union with participation of Palestinians of Syria Committee in Lebanon, Nahr al-Bared refugee camp, refugees confirmed that Palestinians of Syria and Lebanon are in the same boat, and only refugees will be schools affected by postponement of the school year.
They also emphasized that school closures will be followed by the closure of the vocational training centers, and therefore these steps will kill the hopes and the future of an entire generation of o Palestinian refugees who rely on them in the process of return and liberation, pointing out that this act and decision is one of the red lines that cannot be bypassed and defending.
