The Palestinian Factions in Lebanon Demand the UNRWA to Assume its Responsibilities Towards the Palestinians of Syria.

The Palestinian factions delegation in Lebanon demanded the UNRWA to assume its responsibilities towards the displaced Palestinians of Syria in Lebanon, all this came in a meeting for the factions delegation with the Chairman of the Lebanese Palestinian Dialogue Committee “Hassan Mneimneh” at his office in the government palace in Beirut, on Thursday, where the delegation discussed several issues related to the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, started by the refugee demands to UNRWA.
Thus, Hamas movement applied a memorandum to the minister “Mnemna” emphasized the necessary of UNRWA to assume its responsibilities towards the Palestinians of Syria refugees, especially after the periodic aids of sheltering, food, clothes, education, and health similarly as to the UNHCR treatment with the Syrian refugees, and not to stop its these services till the end of the crisis in Syria.

Hamas movement also demanded the legal department of UNRWA to assume its responsibilities towards following-up the civic case related to the Palestinians of Syria refugees regarding their residencies, universities applications, and applying for the official exams in Lebanon, especially for the fact that most of them have lost their documents due to the war actions in Syria.

It is worth mentioning that UNRWA suspended its financial aids to hundreds of Palestinian families started from October 2014, as it explained that the statistics, which were done by its employees in order to collect data about the economic and social state for each displaced Palestinian family from Syria to Lebanon, concluded that their number has reached 44000 refugees after they were 51,000 refugees before the statistics.
